Jekyll & Hyde
The composer for the music for Jekyll & Hyde, Frank Wildhorn, is young enough to be my son. He was born in 1958, the year Evie and I were married. He had this idea - and he was not the first - for a musical based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novella, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. But when I heard a few of the main themes Frank had composed, it became something I knew I had to be a part of. Throughout the remainder of that year, I wrote the book and the lyrics to Frank's ever-expanding score, and our excitement grew and grew with every new scene and song. Today, concert versions of the show have been performed in countries around the world, and Jekyll & Hyde - The Movie, is rumored to be lurking in the wings.
